Now that I'm back in the land of the free, a S&W 5946.

For a handgun, whatever I happen to be carrying that day, but usually either a Walther PPS, an HK P2000, or, as of late, a SIG MK-25. Holster + spare mag comes off when I go to bed, and I set it on my night stand. There's a Surefire G2 there as well.

The dedicated "HD" gun is a Benelli M1 Super 90 with a Surefire fore-end, loaded to full capacity (9 rounds) with Winchester no. 1 buckshot. Six additional rounds are in a Mesa side saddle, to be used in the event that more than three aliens attempt to abduct me.

When I am down in Denver proper I keep a G17 with an X-300 light, Trijicon RMR(Rogers slide) full of Winchester Ranger 9mm 127gr+P+ and when I am up at the cabin in Estes Park I keep an ancient wood stocked HK-Benelli M1 shotgun full of 1oz Brenneke K.O. "Bear Food" with an old Laser Products forend light.

It's funny that I only carry a 5 shot scandium 38 snubby for CCW but I'm literally "Armed For Bear" when I go to sleep at night.
