I...don't even know what to say.

GardoneVT - minimum number of guns can be calculated as follows:

Age multiplied by 2.75 gives total minimum number of firearms. Always round up to the next highest integer.

To find the breakdown (number of carbines, precision rifles, revolvers, pistols, auto shotguns, pump shotguns, double barrels, drillings, C&R, ClassIII and battle rifles), there are "distribution" factors that come into play. These factors are based on height, weight, geography, budget, genealogy, education, and a weighted style preference.

Remember, 2 is 1 and 1 is none, and 72 is fun.

I'd want more than a subcompact .380 Glock, personally.

ETA: Yes, I know you weren't talking about a G42.

For what I wanna do... A few carbines, two carry guns, two back ups to those, an IDPA gun (because competition specific!), a back up for that, a 22 plinker rifle and pistol.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

One day, the Master received one too many open-ended questions from the Student.

As the Student opened his mouth to expound, at length, on his views on the subject, the Master raised his hand. The student fell silent.

"What is the sound of one hand clapping?" asked the Master.

The Student immediately began calling out guesses, each more nonsensical and meaningless than the last.

After a few minutes of this, the Master again raised his hand.
The Student fell silent, and they spent a moment in quiet contemplation.

Suddenly, like lightning striking, the Master slapped the student upside his fool head.
The Master settled back and beamed his serene smile.
The Student, hearing and feeling the thunderclap of the master's slap, was Enlightened.

Moral of the story: questions like this one make my smackin' hand twitchy.

    Absolute Minimum: One; a small carbine: AR-15, lever, Kel-Tec 2000, 10/22, Springfield 45-70, wutevah...

And a shipping container full of mags, ammo, and spare parts...

    I'm way over my minimum.
