Thread: Safariland GLS

There are also folks that find retention appealing, and have no concern about gun grabs by other people. I use a drop rig all the time hunting in AK, and I am keen on the pistol not ending up in the bottom of a stream or lake.

I primarily use a retention holster for 3-gun competition and when riding my dual-sport motorcycle offroad in remote areas.
Not all retention holster requirements are the same.

Quite right, as I fail to consider other contexts.

Me too. I'm quite sure someone at work will think this holster design is the shizzle. It has a place, just not in LE...especially if the only thing keeping a bad guy from grabbing it is whether or not he can establish some kind of grip on the pistol.

Just checked, and the GLS for the G17 is cut such that a Glock with an RMR (rear reserve sight in front of optic) fits without modification.

The new 7000 series for a G17 and X300 also fits the pistol without the light mounted.

Will it accommodate a DG switch without modification? I'm interested in the 7 series holster but that would seal the deal!

You need to hear/stretch the holster for the DG switch. Bill did mine. Put some metal tape on bottom of switch and gently heat the holster.

Have all you 070-philes not experienced the 0701?

Back when I was running an 070 in uniform, the 0701 was just the ticket for open carry in soft clothes. I think I still have one squirreled away somewheres.
