I don't know that it's converting them just like having someone ride on the road on a bicycle won't convert them to cyclists. It will however be enough time to show them that we aren't killers, our struggles are similar, we aren't killers, and it is fun.
I have arrangements to take a cyclist out at some point because they think a suppressor is the coolest thing ever. I met them through someone else who has made a trip to the range with me who still doesn't own a gun but does see how the media is evil, in one more way.
Think for yourself. Question authority.
