    M&P Failure - Striker Breakage

Well this morning I was doing my draw drills and dry firing before leaving the house as normal. Drew, aimed, pressed... No click. (oops, did I forget to rack the slide?) Rack slide, repeat... No click. Went to rack the slide again and had a hard time for a moment. Got it back and when I released it I noticed something fall out of the mag well.

After looking it up this morning it's not a real un-common issue.

Smith & Wesson wants me to sent the whole gun in, but seeing as it's been modified I don't think they'd cover it anyway.

I've lined up a spare at a local shop, thankfully.

ETA: The gun has approximately 3000 rounds, I think. And too many dry fires to count.

    Compact takes duty today.

They will send a replacement striker, I've gotten quite a few actually.
    Think for yourself. Question authority.

The S&W Service Rep said that they have none in stock, other than what their armorers have in reserve. So to get one, it must be sent in.

The black ones break more frequently than the silver ones.

Call again, hope for a different service rep, and demand they send the parts required to fix their gun that broke. It's worked before. Be nice of course, but being firm is what it took me.

If they don't take care of you I might have a spare for you.

I assume this is a 9mm? Its not an uncommon issue, especially with the black strikers. If youre dead set against sending it back...and they wont send you a replacement try speed shooters.

ETA: Speed Shooters is out of stock...sorry dude.

Out of stock = none available.

If THEIR armorers have them....then they're bloody well in stock.

I hope you just talked to the token nepotism/extra-chromosome hire...
