Lawman 124gr TMJ & Blazer Brass 124 FMJ

I was looking over at ATK website for the velocity of the below loads! Couldn't find it listed?

    Lawman
    9mm Luger 124GR TMJ 53616

    Blazer Brass
    9mm Luger 124gr FMJ 5201

I also notice that the 124 HST velocity is 1090FPS at 25Y

You'll find ATK product info available here, Federal, Speer, CCI lines. Includes handgun, shotgun, rifle, with basic info and some terminal ballistic info. http://le.atk.com/

    don't see 53616 or 5201 listed at ATK !

    I saw a 53651 = 1090FPS

I don't really trust cheaper than dirt.
They my of just looked at 53651 and thought well close enough

I do find it strange HST 124 has a velocity of 1090 at 25Y

More like 1090fps at the muzzle.....

The only velocities that manufacturers bothers to chrono in handgun ammo is 10 feet in front of the muzzle. The longer distances are calculated based on deceleration equations. Even so, those muzzle velocities are rarely accurate since each lot of ammo can have deviations based on environmental conditions during loading, changes in the powder they use based on availability, changes in primer conditions, and of course diverse shooting environments. They also tend to round up to the highest standard deviation. Usually, the factory velocity is substancially less than advertised.......expecially in lighter to medium bullet weights.

Why do you think it strange that the HST caluculated velocity is 1090fps?

Because the lawman 124 is quoted to have that at the muzzle and I thought that was kind a odd.

I'm aware of velocity listed on the box might not be what you will get.

Different length barrels , type of chambers, Revolver and Pistol barrels are measured different and will give different velocity
Change of temp or location/ elevation, age
Or when I reload . If I change primers or case or bullet of the same weight can change velocity.

Really if I get 1090 FPS at the muzzle with the 124HST I will be happy.

The P30S V3 9mm is still testing ME ! But I'm already thinking of trading in for a P226R or MK25.

I wish I had Todd's balls and get another P229 but in 9mm
