It's okay, they're unloaded...... Yes, we have learned a lot, but we still see this all the time in photo in magazines, movie posters and all the other training aids for the masses.

Gun safety as practiced today in some small corners of the world is relatively new and far from universal, as five minutes in any gun show will demonstrate.
Remember the LAPD video where they shot sticks out of each others' mouths? Yeah, modern gun safety is a fairly new thing, and quite honestly I think it's Cooper's greatest legacy.
