TDA Dot Torture - 30 round version

I absolutely love Dot Torture but since I typically shoot 100 rounds per range session, I don't like spending half of my ammo shooting it. Several years ago, I reduced the size of the dots and produced a 30 round version. Although the surface area of the dots is scaled down the correct percentage, I find the 30 round version of this drill much harder. Inspired by the TDA version of Dot Torture, I produced my 30 round version:

And just to share the suck, the "normal" version:

I ran this today and it's awesome. I shot it @ 7 yards and got a 24/30, and it was pretty clear where I needed to spend my practice time. This is a great drill for training that DA first shot.

Glad you found it useful. That kind of work at 7 yards is impressive.

I like the reduced round count. Very cool.

Question on the dot size. Are they meant to be 1¼" in size printed, or do I have a print setting issue?

I wondered that as well, so I just shot that CoF using the normal-size dots from an original DT target.

In theory, the dots should be 1.2" - just under 1 1/4"....

Thanks! I tried it this weekend, and I'll be using it again. Not the impressive results that LHS posted, but I agree it is helpful. I was just okay WHO, but at least above that "nature abhors a vacuum" sound.

I shot it yesterday at 5-yards, using a P226, 26/30. Been shooting a light LEM too long is the excuse I'm using.
