Scope Mounting to an AR15

In my experience, cheap mounts like Burris are not machined as true as high quality ones. That causes incomplete contact with the rail and results in shifts in alignment under recoil or just over time--similar to a rifle action that needs bedding.

I agree, and to clarify I have never used one of the Burris PEPR mounts. I have only heard other guys I shoot with suggest them as a decent low cost alternative. Probably shouldn't have even brought it up in this thread.

The only QD scope mount I would recommend for the OP's application is a Bobro, or a fixed KAC mount or set of quality precision rings.

What kind of rings would you look into?
I'm sorry if some of these questions seem ignorant but anything hands on I have is based on low end stuff my friends have and red dot mounts.
I do have a Larue LT104 for a trijicon tr24 that doesn't hold zero, but I attribute that to being accidentally run over by an ATV...

Badger steel rings are hard to beat. But just make sure you can mount both rings on your receiver...
