Just when you think you are out... they pull you back in.
IIRC, the Hornady XTP in its various calibers was one of the original bullets designed to try to meet some of the early FBI requirements (maybe before barrier testing came into play?). For it's day,...
I've got about 300 rounds through my UC now. Whatever hitch in the trigger I had seems to be gone. Today I bench rested the gun, and shot this at 25 yards. 5 rounds of Federal Gold Medal Match, and 5...
Yeah, I thought that was an interesting decision in design as well. They look like really well made loaders... and I somewhat like the idea of something that isn't round and likely to roll away... or...
Thanks everyone for the replies so far. Seems maybe I'm not missing much, but I may give the HKS a try anyway, just to get a chance to know what I don't know yet.
I thought maybe the Pachmayr...
The only problem I've had with the Comp I's is something (I suspect my Classic SD swiss army knife) working its way into the middle of the loader in my pocket and dumping the rounds by depressing the...
Am I missing out on anything by only using Safariland Comp I's in my J-frames.... Should I give HKS loaders a try? I've had good luck with the Comp I's, and have a small pile of them around. HKS...
That it is, indeed. Between him and Lost River... ugh You guys are making me look bad!
I hadn't really been shooting DA revolvers much lately... and shooting my new UC revealed how badly...
My carry habits mostly didn't change, honestly. I had the gun talk with my kids at a very young age... including all the "No guns sign, dad, you can't carry your gun in here!" type stuff. They have...
Pushing closer to 4 grains will probably clean things up a bit. I imagine you're getting a fair amount of unburnt powder at that 3.5gr charge. 4 grains will probably also increase recoil a fair...
Reading comprehension late last night was apparently poor on my end, and I didn't re-read your post before posting today. I see how I missed it now. I remembered it as the trigger pull getting harder...
revchuck38 --Well, I spoke too soon. Mine also seemed to have a hard hitch right at the end of the pull for the first few rounds I fired today. The good news is that leaving the first 5 rounds worth...
Hopefully it cleans up for you without having to send it back. Keep us updated. Mine felt a little "dry" lube wise, straight from the box. Not gritty, and no hitches, but like it could use some lube....
I might have a J-frame problem...

And a speed loader/speed strip problem.
25 rounds each of 130gr Ranger and 135gr +P...
I left work a bit early today, and stopped in at one of the shops I had put feelers out to to find a UC for me... and they just happened to have a 442 that just came in earlier today. It wasn't even...
Finally had a chance to listen. Some gems for sure... much of the ground covered was... familiar.
"Duty" was part of the premise of this thread, but I think we all at least consider concealment a lot more seriously "here" than your average joe "out there" so we trend to drift that way and weight...
Sun Tzu can bill me...
I believe it. Sig really has kicked Glocks ass on the 9mm "slim" guns, both in form/capacity, and marketing them. It doesn't hurt that they seem to work pretty dang well, and are shootable for lots...
I *can* conceal it under a T-shirt... but its not optimal concealment gear. Mission drives the gear train. I'm willing to "dress around the gun" when I have to. Sometimes getting made matters more...
For sure. As a reference my 5 shot 3" S&W 60-10 .357 J-frame revolver weighs roughly the same as my G19.5 w/RMR... fully loaded the Glock might be a little heavier, but it's also 3X the capacity,...
Everyone tends to look at things through their own prisms for sure. Upthread a comment was made that you had to be a bigger guy to conceal a Glock 19... which IME, isn't true. I'm not particularly...
It's the only way to be sure...
Gah! Don't tell me that!...
It's specific to the 19X frame. It has a protrusion at the bottom of the frontstrap that will hit the extended beveled lip at the front of the Gen 5 mags. The 45 frame, and 17/34 frames don't have...
