Especially with revolvers, this is why I wait until the local dealer has a few that I can examine. Then I can pick the one that came out of the factory made to spec.

I can see how a 632 could fit that role, but given the size of today's most common loose and unsupervised dogs (pitbulls), I'd need something with a bit more 'oomph'.
Whoa, whoa, settle down! Let's not get too crazy with our wish-lists!
The key (especially true and 100% necessary with revolvers) is to look at a several and pick the one that came out the factory...
Hang on. Titanium pins.. makes me wonder if there's some galling going on.
i'm not a metallurgist or gun designer, but I'm sure those who are at S&W considered such things and designed around any...
I appreciate the initial gel tests so far, but what really interest me is accuracy with .32 loads. I believe .32 long (and it's derivatives I hope) are generally accurate rounds. But can the gun do...
Corporate management are people with BPD and NPD, and along with abusing employees is the impetus to vomit out products in bulk regardless of quality. Sure, 99% of firearms owners are dumb and don't...
I've been saying throughout this thread that something seemed to have happened with gun companies circa mid 2010-ish where things fell off the cliff QC-wise. But the S&W move was just recently.....
It's like the nonsense excitement around flash-in-the-pan calibers like .40S&W, .45GAP, .357 Sig, etc. Folks jumped on the bandwagon, as they do with new and shiny things, and I stuck with .38 and...
History: there's merit in a 6-shot .32 snubby with negligible recoil vs a 5-shot .38 snubby with considerably more recoil.
Personally, I have no issues with .38 snubbies and their recoil. The...
So, we can't make revolvers anymore can we? I've seen so many come out of the gate with bad accuracy that I'm pretty much giving up on anything made in the 21st century. Specifically, things fell off...
200 more rounds today, so 700 total trouble-free rounds. Yay!
Update: 300 more rounds and no problems yet.
That makes for a total of 500 trouble-free rounds, so I'll consider the issue resolved.
In case I needed to go that route, I bought a spare mag release and cut off one of the paddles (below). The plan is to swap it in if I need it. But 200 trouble-free rounds is reassuring. Once I hit...
UPDATE: sorry for the late response, but it took me a few weeks to get back to the range.
I kept the medium side plates on and installed the large backstrap.
200 rounds fired in under an hour....
I'll try medium sideplates and the large backstrap. Will report later this week.
I'm going to try one more thing: change the grips.
Currently I have the medium backstrap and side plates. I'll switch 'em out with size large and see what that does. Maybe also try a combo of...
I could Bubba the thing and go at the paddle release with a dremel tool.
Hmm, I just checked my grip and I'm pretty sure that's not it, unless my hand and the gun are twisting like pretzels...
The gun is new, but I checked. Everything is fine. Mage catch is pristine, spring is whole.
Update: Even with my grip choked up as high as possible and my fingers mashed under the trigger guard,...
Sorry to bother you all, but I've had this problem for a few months and online searching is not coming up with much, so I figured the cognoscenti here would have some good advice.
I got a P30sk...
Agreed! I'm 100% sure bigger grips would help given how much my finger hangs past the trigger guard.. but the small factory grips are great for pocket carry. Everything is a compromise, isn't it? ...
I was thinking the same thing. I have long fingers and the possibility of the distal joint getting pinched between the trigger and frame is a definite possibility.
will do!
Thanks, everyone for the advice! From what I can tell, this might be the culprit. That corner doesn't feel rough but maybe I need it soften it a bit?

Long time lurker, first time poster. I searched but I really could't find anything on this topic. Last week I took my 642 out for a trip to the range. 50 rounds 130g FMJ and the distal joint on my...
