I have a 2016 Focus ST I bought new and have enjoyed for 140k so far, and it is about the same performance spectrum as the new Miata, and IMO this is great for a street car you actually drive a lot.

And... turns out the new gun has an H buffer and the old one doesn't... :cool:

Your difficult situation is that there are sooooooooo many options, and many/most (maybe even all?) are good.
IMO the best baseline might be the basic bull barrel Ruger 22/45 or one of the basic...

I agree in principal, only that the either-or question might not be between 22LR and 9mm, but might be between a new shooter that shoots 5 rounds out of a J-frame, or 5k rounds out of a 22LR J-frame.

I did this, and IMO it works pretty well.

This could be pretty cool, I have always liked building things up around a frame instead of discarding a bunch of crap, because I never sell/discard the stuff, so I would rather have not bought it. ...

I remember thinking when the chatter turned to a PSA gun being under gassed I said...

My experience has been more related to their assembly, like misaligned gas blocks, enough that I was surprised the thing ran, but I can fix that stuff, it is even a little fun :cool:

Mine makes AIWB with something like a G19 size gun pretty clunky, but the cylinder of a J just drops into a pouch between my belly and hip like it was made for one... :cool:

Is that the Rusty Nutz MRO mount? Does it co-witness?

If you are adjusting elevation (or maybe even to just estimate it?) I have taken a level and a marker and draw a plumb line after you have stapled the target down. With long range guns you can zero...
