If I'm going to use my carry gun at the range, I'll just leave the chambered round in there, drop the magazine with carry ammo, and insert the magazine with practice ammo. The chambered round goes...

My days of multi-hundred-round practice sessions are in the past. It's been a while since I've exceeded 100 rounds in a session. Most of my shooting is with my handloads, and I've got enough...
For stuff like Red Bull, I agree. But the mocha-flavored ones are pretty good. :)
Here. Knopfler put a bunch of his collection up for auction at Christie's, and Spender got to play some of them, including the ones he used on several albums and tours. Those guitars went for mad...
If it were me, I'd get a bunch of coated LSWCs and use enough Universal to push them to about 900-950 fps. :)
fatdog - Of the choices you list, I'd go with Titegroup and plated bullets. TG is about the right burn rate, but it burns really hot. I stopped using it back when I was actively competing in IDPA...
Maybe. Bullets for 9x19 are typically sized .356 while the typical sizing for .38/.357 is .358. Using undersized bullets usually causes leading, though I'm not sure whether the coating would...
+1!
One of the least enjoyable road trips I made was I-10 from Lake Charles to El Paso in one day.
I've got a bunch of K and L frame Comp IIs and love them, they're what I use for carry. I've got several J frame Comp Is and have had poor luck with them; some of them work normally and others...
^^^^Damned fine work from a snubby!
If I were in the market for a good shooter-quality 19, I’d be on that like white on rice.
My cardiologist told me to cut out alcohol because I have a family history of afib and alcohol consumption greatly increases the risk of it showing up in me. I’ve switched to nonalcoholic beer, and...
My M&P45s run fine with 10+1, even with my hardball-equivalent handloads. My reload magazine has only nine rounds in it because it requires a really hard smack to seat it with ten, and if I need to...
Current manufacturer's data for 231 is at https://hodgdonreloading.com/rldc/
FWIW, 231 and HP38 were always the same powder, as were 296 and H110.
When I chronoed standard velocity and +P in my M&P45 Compact, the velocity difference was 27 fps and I couldn't really tell the difference in perceived recoil either.
Yeah, that's a sign of low pressure. There's nothing wrong with that, other than the fouling outside of the cases.
What is your goal with this ammo? Low recoil, best accuracy, matching your...
That's unusual but not unknown. I'd be on the phone with Federal's customer service folks first thing Monday morning if it happened to me.
WDR - My hitch is at the very beginning of the trigger pull, not the end.
I'd try Privateer Leather.
My 442 UC came in today. I took it to the range, ran a dry patch through the bore and chambers, and started to make some empty brass. Unfortunately, it didn't last long. The gun has a glitch in...
I seem to be transitioning back to leather for OWB carry. I carry in the same position and it just works better for me. That said, I carry IWB in Kydex probably 80-90% of the time.
Several years ago I ran a bunch of 124-grain ammo over my chronograph with my full-size PX4. Going from memory, PMC was the slowest, barely making it over 1,000 fps - I think the average velocity...
Duelist - I was in the college prep track and was therefore forbidden from taking typing, which was reserved for the kids going into the workforce after high school. I hunted-and-pecked my way...
When I was in high school (I graduated in '69) there was a class called "Home Economics" which was limited to girls. I assume budgeting was part of that class. There was nothing like that for guys;...
