It's been a godsend for me. Good luck.
I knew it was a pre-64. Afterall, what else could it be for that photo?
Thanks. I didn't know white cocobolo was a thing. I like them.
Nice. Is that Zebra wood?

Another note on the stag grips.
Today was the first shooting session with them in place. Their thickness is standard on the centerline, but they don't taper as much toward the outter edge, so...
Quick note on the grips. An ebay search for cactusgripper yields nothing, and a Google search just turns up cactus trimming tools. However, type in "stag grips 1911" on eBay and he pops right up.
A couple of quick, dirty cellphone pics, because I didn't want to drag out the lights.
Just in: a new set of stag grips, made from elk antler. The photos really don't do these justice. The fit...

In this case, I vote for the two-tone.
I'm hoping this set works out. The checkering on the front strap and mainspring house is pretty aggressive and the wood itself isn't really slick, so we'll see.

Just in from Woodcaliber: grips made from American Holly. I've owned real ivory grips in years past, as well as several of the substitutes and these are as close to ivory as I've seen. The grain...

Thanks. I didn't want to go overboard, but rather maintain a minimalist aesthetic.
New set from Wood Caliber. Gaboon Ebony with Holly inlays.

I've had this one for seven years. I wasn't looking for another 1911, but the quality/price ratio was great, so I couldn't pass it up. I put a few hundred rounds through it and stuck it in the safe...
Oh my, that's sexy.
Nothing fancy, just my SA Range Officer with a few mods. Sure is a shooter.
