Interesting thread Greg.
Hk's in .45 ACP seems to be a habit I can never break. I seem to perpetually find myself being pulled back to them from my P30. I was just contemplating going back to the...
Add a manual safety onto it and that is my Holy Grail of a pistol.

A better comparison for manual safety on the HK P30LS is the Browning HI-Power MKIII's ambi safety. The positioning, size and feel are pretty much exactly the same to me.
Thanks for the input. The more input I get, the more I'm thinking of getting an LTT P30 LEM as a test bed for the flat trigger, reset reduction, LEM, and optics on a pistol. Seems to make more sense...
No bobbed hammer options exist for the P30. The spur is indeed metal, but a good bit of the portion that is the "spur" and really protrudes is just plastic or har rubber. I've seen pics of someone...
The spur portion of the hammer on my P30LS V3 that I carry AIWB hits me uncomfortably when I bend at the waist. If memory serves, the spur is just plastic and can be removed, but my Google-Fu is weak...
Of course I'll post my thoughts if I get a LTT P30 LEM. The LTT package has me interested in giving it a try.
The smarter thing to do is probably just add the optic cut to my P30LS, but since...
Getting back into regular shooting after a three year hiatus and saw the optic ready LTT P30.
I was initially just planning to get the optic cut on my P30LS, but must say I've always wanted to try...
I'll say no, capacity matters. I love 45,I love the 1911, and I love HK USPs. I tried all last year to convince myself capacity doesn't matter, as long as it was around 10rds total in the gun. But...
Ditch the dual spring "Recoil Reduction System" for a normal recoil spring like the P30 and you've described my perfect pistol.
Why wait? Are there rumors of more upgrades or revisions from Aimpoint?
Damn, that was a quick pic reply! Thanks for that.
Sights look good. I'm debating on the RMR vs ACRO. Any opinion on how you like the RMR or reasons for choosing it? Since you've got to mill the...
So I've decided to get an RDS pistol. Turning 42 and pilot eyes that aren't what they used to be have made me realize an RDS pistol is inevitable, so why not just get one and start practicing.

Are these the BUIS that L&M installs? Any chance of getting a picture of what the iron sights look like from the rear through the RMR?
I'm serisouly contemplating sending L&M a P30L slide to get...
Archer in Space was pretty damn good. Enjoyed it a lot, and while a different locale/genre, the humor felt more like earlier seasons. I do love sci-fi though, so that might have influenced it some.
HK45 Compacts are cool and I love my HK USP 45 Compact, but they're pretty damn close in size to the P30. To me 8+1 vs 17+1 in the same sized gun is a no-brainer.
If you want .45 Auto, USP...
As far as I'm aware M-18s are only with Security Forces at this point. Still think there are M-9s in the inventory for aircrew. This thread has peaked my curiosity so I'll check in with AFE next week.
I absolutely love the Duchesse Flemish Red. Amazing beer that I stumbled into when the wife ordered it thinking it was a sour.

Southern Tier Hot Cocoa Nitro Milk Stout.
Excellent. Tastes like it sounds with nice balance between sweetness and booziness.
All the individual causes/circumstances will be different, but the most common factors in the Air Force are the same as in civilian life: work/relationship/financial issues leading to a feeling of...
Lack of manual safety or Gadget option is literally the only thing that has kept me away from the VP9.
These 2020 updates are a pretty compelling package to me though, and has me re-examining if...
For the original question, neither the USP or P30 is perfect IMO. The triggers are slightly better on the USPs, mainly for the shorter takeup and length of travel. Also the availability of Match...
HK has ambi-control levers available for both the USP and USP compacts. Just look to the USP Expert and Elite. The ambi-lever comes standard on those.
For other USP models, it’s easier to just...
I'm in the same boat with 15 rounders for the P30. My plan is just to get a few of the 17 rounders for carry, and use all the 15-rd mags for practice. 2 rounds isn't a big enough difference that I...
I think this has finally pushed me over the edge on the VP9. I've resisted change long enough, time to try a 21st century pistola.
When I get back from deployment, I think I'm going to get 2x...
