Yep. As noted, from AFHS in 2012... you were there with us, right? I was honored he picked it for the P-T.com header.

This is how I always felt when shooting with Todd... under his watchful eye.
That was a good, and as I recall, very wet class.

I did. I'm trying to remember which class that was since I had the pleasure of taking a few with him over the years.

Here's one he was fond of too.

I've got lots more... I may put them in a gallery and send a link unless you have a better suggestion.
He can be rebuilt! When do they add in the adamantium? Has H&K offered to build any new parts for you? A P30 in that elbow would add some impressive trick shots to your repertoire.
Seriously...
You know, to be honest, I don't really know where my trigger finger ends up when I do it for real. It's either along the frame/slide joint where it is for the rest of the reload, or possibly...
Sure, I'll weigh in here. Short version -- I was always trained to use the overhand method based on "gross motor skills" and "most reliable" and such, especially as a lefty. While I have mixed...
Fun match. I think the FTN did me in, but it was a good time.
Now in addition to my dry fire, I'm going to find a button to practice pushing. Apparently I need that.
Yep. Only people we hate, a lot. I hope al-Qa'ida watches this and thinks it's a good idea.
To be fair, other than the low-light and holiday theme aspects of this match, it was a bit simpler, shorter and less involved than most KSTG matches tend to be. While your comments aren't...
Great match... I really liked the fun stages and the low-light aspect. Got to use a slightly different set of skills than just "fast" or "far" (and it didn't feel fast, but it did feel fun).

As a weapon light, it worked quite well -- good throw (clearly visible on the walkback where it did better than I expected, well beyond most pistol engagement range for most people) and with enough...
Seriously!
I hope you can do good writeups of the course and what you learn. Obviously not all the material is for public consumption (or wise to post on the internet), but the safety and lessons...
I may have to try that out, thank you.
I should also note that if you use your flashlight on your CAP sights, you can make them bright enough to read by, briefly. If you're gaming it, you can...
Great to see that one's still out there. I had to drop my EMS work a number of years ago for medical reasons, sadly, but circa 2004 I dreamed of going to that course. It always looked like fun!

Cats and dogs together!
Seriously though, all that speaks to my experience. I also don't like the "straight-8" sights for the same reason, but top shooters swear by them. Or the blacked out...
Thank you. I was wondering if anyone would notice that!

To the holsters question, JSGlock34 covered most of it, but as for retention I observed both ALS and SLS Safariland holsters in use....
I actually expected to like the CAP sights in the dark more than I did, but I say that with a caveat: I have shot 3-dot sights for 95%+ of my handgun shooting experience, so I'm definitely more...
If you'd like to see more pics from the course, check out John Chang's awesome shots on the Haley Strategic Tumblr page or on their Facebook page.
First time I've ever seen a normal camera...

Thank you. I was skeptical and part of why I have stopped writing AARs is just what you pointed out. They're rarely honest and meaningful.
And it was a very cool class, so I'm glad that came...
I don't really write AARs anymore, but I attended Travis Haley's Disruptive Environments: Handgun Vehicle Darkness (HVD) class hosted by Engage Armament this past week and figured I'd share a few...
I don't love classifiers, but it was a fun match. I can definitely see my lack of practice (which I can only partially blame ammo shortages for) showing through on my FAST headshots (that were...
